The Navajo Nation has two tribally-controlled colleges, Dine College in Tsaile, AZ and Crownpoint Institute of Technology in Crownpoint, NM. There are also numerous schools and school districts across the Navajo Nation offering K-12 instruction. The Navajo Nation also has an Early Childhood Development Program (formerly Headstart) with school facilities at all the communities on the Navajo Nation. Surrounding the Navajo Nation are major universities such as the Northern Arizona University and the University of New Mexico, and other colleges and institutions of higher learning.
